Here is a simple sensory play. It also is a ridiculously fun way to work on scissors cutting. All you need is:
- bin (optional)
Hand your child some scissors and a straw and let them practice their snipping. The best part about cutting straws is quite often the small piece you snip ends up shooting across the table (hence the bin). The shooting straws make a child want to keep sniping because it is so fun to watch the effect of a scissor cut.
To prolong the play I added a string to string the bits of cut straw.
This activity should help your child with their scissor skills is a fun and new way. It also creates a sensory experience. How perfect. Let your child create their own sensory bin filler!
